Introducing the Autobag 500 Bagging System – The new flagship in bag packaging machinery optimizes reliability, flexibility and ergonomics – Autobag® 500™ Bagging System
The Autobag 500 will package at rates over 100 bags per minute using genuine Autobag pre-opened bags-on-a-roll in sizes from 2 inches to 12 inches wide by 2.5 inches to 20 inches long. The Autobag 550 utilizes the same basic design, with a fully integrated AutoLabel™ imprinter positioned directly over the next bag to be loaded, eliminating the need for a separate print and label operation.

An innovative design provides more efficient loading with an adjustable pass-through opening up to five inches wide. No light curtains and less guarding enable unrestricted access to the pre-opened bag while remaining inherently safe. These new Autobag bag packaging systems can be configured in left- or right-hand orientation with an easy height adjustment for maximum operator productivity and comfort. An improved, multi-position unwind with tension control provides faster changeovers of bag-on-a-roll materials with an AutoThread™ function that reduces waste.

BorderPak is a company focused on providing our customers with the best solutions to their packaging applications and requirements. We recently solved a bagging need for our customer Mueller Commercial located In Monterrey Mexico. Mueller had a need to bag different sized plumbing components in a Ziploc bag. The components were to be bagged 1 per bag and in some instances up to 5 per bag. The idea was to optimize the use of a bagger that would allow them the flexibility of the different counts required while employing a minimum number of operators. Since the bag needed to be a Ziploc bag and some counts called for multiple components, we proposed a Autobag® FAS SPrint Revolution inline bagger from Automated Packaging Systems. This bagging system fulfilled all of their packaging requirements by minimizing operator involvement while optimizing packaging speeds. The Autobag® FAS SPrint Revolution bagger also complied with their requirements to use Pre-printed Ziploc bags also manufactured by Autobag® Packaging Systems. Since each bag also required a “label” with variable printed information to be executed at the packaging point, the bagger was fitted with a Thermal Printer that allowed them to do just that. At the end of the day, we were able to provide Mueller Commercial with the best and most cost-effective solution to their bagging needs.

Why Preventative Maintenance Agreements are important to you!

As with most purchases, there can be endless amounts of additions to an invoice that appear frivolous and oftentimes aren’t easily understood.  One that stands out from the crowd is a Preventive Maintenance Agreement (PMA).

The PMA is a “check-up” on your machine.  The purpose of the “check-up” is to extend the useful life of your equipment by proactively replacing common wear parts, making it a better investment for you by increasing productivity and profitability.  Each agreement is based on the needs of the buyer, but typically includes 2-4 visits/year from factory certified technicians.

Without a PMA and regularly scheduled “check-ups,” the equipment begins to run less efficiently. Changes to the machine’s configuration over time, the environment the equipment runs in, and long run times all play a role in how the machine operates.

A few important benefits you can expect are: reduced unplanned down times, lower chance of catastrophic failures, longer run times, reduced unplanned expenditures, and longer life and improved efficiency.

The PMA should begin immediately upon receiving the equipment, and is typically renewed on a year-to-year basis.  Along with replacing or updating wear parts and other parts that are necessary; the PMA includes operator and maintenance training for your employees.  They will be trained by the same factory certified technicians that service your equipment.

Oftentimes businesses find themselves facing corrective action with a piece of equipment that has already broken down.  Wouldn’t you rather take preventative action so the risk of these unplanned breakdowns are minimized?
